Joie de vivre!
This home joyfully screams family! It’s the perfect spot to raise kids and make lasting memories. The 1925 Wardman-style detached house has a living space organized around the center stairwell which permits dinner guests to flow between rooms and children to race in circles. The owners decorated to emphasize joie de vivre, vibrant colors, a bit of whimsy, and functional comfort. The home’s stately historic fixtures dance in unison with noisy modern flourishes such as street art from the French Quarter and a giant Sputnik-style Deco chandelier. Who else has a wedding photo of themselves marching down the street surrounded by trumpets and tubas in a second line parade ala New Orleans!

The home overflows with allusions to the owners’ hometowns New Orleans and Detroit. There is a stunning Max Stern’s photo of Mardi Gras Indians. And a not - to - be - missed and easy - to - be - seen from the street custom-designed pink neon sculpture that honors Robert Graham’s Motor City monument to Joe Louis, the boxer-cum-civil-rights-activist. And if that were not enough, the back yard is a lovely oasis designed by a landscape architect who last owned the house. There are two levels of green to their yard which have been sculpted to please the eye and embrace the children's toys.

This home also shouts Fiesta! The post-CASA Crestwood party will be held here from 4:30pm to 6pm.  Come share a glass, have a treat, meet your neighbors and hear the executive director for Thrive, Alicia Horton, speak about Thrive. Arriba Arriba!
